Non-Profit Organization
Linn Manor Care Center provides health care service without regard as to race, color, national origin, disability or age. A licensed nurse is scheduled on duty for each shift to supervise the quality of care, administer medications, and perform treatments. Nursing assistants and trained staff help with personal care needs such as whirlpool bathing, showers, oral cares, dressing, grooming, therapy exercises, and assistance with eating. Linn Manor has transfer agreements with both St. Luke’s and Mercy Hospitals in Cedar Rapids, which have modern medical equipment and access to many specialists if a need should arise. Medicare or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) services are available if eligible in addition to traditional Nursing Facility (NF) care. Service can be arranged for physical, occupational, and speech therapy, audiologist, dentist, optometrist, and podiatrist, and discharge planning as appropriate.
Food Services
Food service is a highlight with menus planned considering individual preferences. Our dietary supervisor and registered dietician review menus and adjust them to meet the daily nutritional requirements of the residents. Special diets such as diabetic, calorie controlled, and sodium restricted are provided according to physician orders. Snacks are available between meals. Continental breakfast, soup & salad bar and picnic buffet are scheduled regularly.
Resident Rooms
Resident rooms are commodious with adjustable bed, bedside cabinet, nurse call, privacy curtains, clothes closet, lavatory, toilet room, air conditioner, and pleasant view to the outside. Room accommodations vary as to how much space is available for a little extra furniture.
Activities
A variety of group and individual activities with varied levels of participation are planned on the monthly calendar. Some of the activities include exercise class, Bible study, Bible quiz, reminiscence, current events, crafts, birthday parties, bus rides, monthly lunch and shopping at a local mall, hymn sing-a-long, travel films, seasonal holiday programs, cultural dining, videos, picture puzzles, flower gardens, dominos, and checkers.
